I’ve been going through our search data, to see what kind of keyword phrases people have used to find TPR in January. There are some very interesting results I’d like to share, along with some comments on them. So here goes:

rape of nanking

This is our top keyword phrase for January 2007. I guess it’s gaining a bit of steam…

There were some others that fit into that category:

what japan thinks of nanjing massacre
why did the nanjing massacre end
did nanjing massacre cause china to have communism
what did they gain after the nanjing massacre.
rape of nanking book controversy
the rape of nanking
robert wilson safety zone nanking
quotes on war and nationalism rape of nanking
japanese nanking rape massacre actual diaries
rape of nanjing important dates
nanjing japan
japan nanking massacre
nanking massacre photos
which is worse nazi holocaust or nanjing massacre

Clearly, the incident is a big search term…

myspace taro cards

This is one of my favorites. Actually, more than one person had clicked through on this search. The only explanation is that they found the TPR News post that discussed both the MySpace/Softbank tieup in Japan and Taro Aso.

We don’t have one. Maybe we should… We do have a couple versions that can be streamed at the end of this post, though.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any.

Wow. Someone searched for my photos? Does that means I’m the sex symbol of TPR? Cool.

Wait, no, not cool. It’s too much pressure already. I need to branch out.

what japan thinks of nanjing massacre

Stop stealing my searches! I’ve never mentioned it, and never seen any surveys on that - I’ll have to try to find one.

I do have the photos, and unless you send one million yen in used notes I’ll publish them.

BTW, my top phrase for the last 8 months has been for “Little April” - search and you’ll see why…

Well Ken, you come out at #11 on Google for ‘little april,’ which shows there’s a bit more that could be done in terms of SEO to get on the top page…ha! That is a scary search.

I’ll let Garrett deal with the photos…I don’t mind seeing them published since that may actually help me out…

Oh wow Garrett pics! (Hot stuff!)

I’m very much suprised by the topic of Nanjin (nanking) being the ichiban search request…

Ken W - I’m glad it’s number 11 - I think my “best” was fourth place, or first with safe search on. I’m down to about 30 or 40 hits per day for her now, but given that I see people going as far as the 500th or 600th match for other pr0n keywords, I think she’ll be featuring in my stats for a long, long time!

I found your site because I’m creepy and was googling people from UMass, out of boredom. Love your logo/banner…

Not sure if you will see this, but I randomly just checked back to see if you responded to me, because I’m narcissistic like that :) I am good, I’m living back in Boston after spending a few years in Los Angeles. I work in educational publishing as a photo researcher. It’s interesting to see what you’re doing here, since my industry is shifting so quickly to more and more web based components to teach kiddies about shit (Not that our content is shit, but you know…).

How long have you lived in Tokyo? That’s pretty awesome.
