There's no sense in basing your vote for prefectural governor or assemblyperson on how Abe's handling talks with NK. But there are many many municipalities that could end up sharing Yubari's fate, so that's a much more cogent issue. I don't think any election results in the Upper House will affect Japan's stance on the issue either.
