Tobias: Not your bad at all. No one asked you about it. Besides, when we need someone to blame, the finger always points at Garrett.

Baltimoron: We've talked a bit about Obama in relation to Japan, but we definitely have to come back to that.

As far as Sino-Japanese relations goes, I'm out of my element there. I agree that it would be great for us to have someone come on who could talk about that. We'll see what we can do.

If I could be so bold as to request a topic, I would like someone to tackle Sino-Japanese relations, or what the Obama administration should do in East Asia. The two topics might be the same. I'd really like to hear about foreign policy and security by someone deep in the weeds of the Japanese bureaucracy and party politics.

But I'll take this feature anyway I can get it!

My bad. I was a bit rushed the day we recorded so the conversation was perhaps less rambling than it might have been otherwise.

Baltimoron,

I guess we need Tobias back already! Security just didn't hit the agenda - I guess we were feeling safe that day.
